A bit about Boomer Bents and Bikes
Boomer Bents and Bikes, LLC was started by it’s owner, Craig Current, out of his desire, at age 57, to stay fit, have fun doing it and to make new friends on trails and while enjoying the RV lifestyle. Needless to say, recumbent bikes, trikes and Pedego electric bikes allow the rider to accomplish them all! However, in my case none of this almost happened due to a rare auto-immune disorder I was diagnosed with 3 years ago impacting my muscle strength and stamina.
That’s where my first exposure to stationary recumbent bikes occurred during my physical therapy sessions. After 9 months of 3 per day 3hour sessions, I was able to rebuild my muscle tone and strength due mostly to riding a recumbent. Losing a few extra pounds wasn’t bad either! I then started doing daily recumbent work at the gym that ended up with my transition to 2 and 3 wheel recumbent bikes that has continued my rehabilitation back to my former self and a business called, “Boomer Bents and Bikes”.
The name “Boomer” refers to the age group that accounts for the 50 million post WWII population. They have worked hard their entire life and now want to actively realize the fruits of their labor by enjoying a longevity ruled healthy lifestyle. In fact, while many “boomers” are enjoying active lifestyles through various fitness related endeavors, many do so with nagging back and joint pain that just comes with aging. “No Pain No Gain”, is a phrase that, in most cases, doesn’t occur when riding recumbents. In fact, many bent enthusiasts jokingly call recumbents a “chiropractors best friend”!
If you already own a recumbent then I know you’ll enjoy the products and information offered in this website. For perspective bent rider wannabees , I encourage you to explore, experience and enjoy the local bike trails, rv campgrounds and national parks by riding a recumbent bike, trike or e-bike for a happy and heart healthy lifestyle. Losing a few inches off the waistline isn’t bad either.
